I first met Stan when he was hired to renovate a suite that was done for a condo owner. I was impressed with his work and the final result. Months later, our condo association needed to repaint the ceilings in seventeen units due to ice damming. Again, we were impressed with A Cut Above Living's work and the handling of the schedules of owners and workmen. Months later, two suites suffered water damage and needed extensive work to their kitchens, dining room, living room and front hall. A Cut Above Living did fantastic work putting their places back to normal, making them even better than what they were before. The owners are very pleased. Any concerns or issues that surfaced were addressed promptly and resolved efficiently, which helped the renovation proceed smoothly. Additionally, the A Cut Above Living team went above and beyond in order to provide us with a beautifully finished product. A Cut Above Living would be the first company we would consider for any future work.
We were very happy with the finished product and appreciate all your support and guidance along the way.
We undertook a major renovation project with A Cut Above Living and are very satisfied with the finished product. Although the nine month project presented a significant number of challenges and decisions to be made on the fly, Stan and his team were always focused on doing it right. Stan's interior designer, (Tracy at Flawless Interiors) was exceptional at leading us through the design and selection of product and décor. She quickly zoned in on what we were looking for and was monumental in helping us thru the process. Stan's Site Supervisor Darrell was also very good at keeping the various trades on task and ensuring the work was completed to high quality standards. They always treated our home, and us with respect and compassion and ensured a clean and safe workplace was maintained. Stan chose competent trades for all of the contracted work; in particular, the tile setters and cabinet installers did exceptional work. Overall, we are very pleased with the finished product and would recommend A Cut Above Living to anyone looking for renovation work.
Stan & Eva were part of our renovation from the very beginning. My husband and I found a house built on a fabulous lot but knew from the very first impression that we would need to make additions and customize the existing building. Having met Stan though a friend, we brought him along while we toured the property with our realtor. He was able to give us his opinion on the house and whether or not the changes we desired to make were possible. We had a very clear vision for the style of home we wanted to create for our family. I have spent a lot of time in Nashville song writing and recording my new album, SHINE and was very impressed at how the houses are so open and bright. Many of the rooms in the main living area (living room, dining room and open concept was really important to me and I wanted our home to reflect my love of my family and friends. With A Cut Above Living's help, our home was transformed into a beautiful and spacious place where we can gather and enjoy one another. My husband and I were involved in every part of the renovation process for our home. Were both very hands on people in everything we do and Stan was very accommodating to all of our wants and needs. Despite the amount of work we gave him, Stan and his crew were always professional. They are always on time, respectful of our home and always did their work without hesitation. He encouraged us to do our own research and come to him with our ideas, which I really appreciated. Renovating a home is such a team effort and A Cut Above Living worked well with all the designers and specialty trades that my husband and I brought in to customize certain rooms in our home. I would recommend A Cut Above Living. Stan & Eva are incredibly kind, patient and trustworthy individuals…we always felt like they looked out for our best interests. They started out as our Contractors, but in the end, became really close friends. A Cut Above Living truly made our dreams a reality.
As the President of the Condo Board, I feel that it is important to develop a network of trustworthy professionals (tradesmen, suppliers, and consultants) that we can contact whenever we need work done. By establishing relationships with excellent companies, we know that any projects that arise will be handled promptly and reliably. A Cut Above Living has become our go to guys for any restoration work. In recent years, a number of our condo units were damaged by ice damming and flooding. A Cut Above Living was able to respond in timely fashion to address this damage, providing us with expert workmanship. Not only were they able to restore the condos, but they were able to make seamless upgrades to specific units if requested by the owner. They have demonstrated their knowledge and experience by adapting to any situation that we may throw their way. A Cut Above Living is certainly considered one of our preferred contractors/suppliers.
A Cut Above Living has recently done a restoration of my basement for me. I chose to have them do the work for me rather than a restorer from the insurance company as they did a job for me a couple years ago. In both cases I was delighted with their work. Stan gives me prompt service and hires excellent workers. In both cases I had to be out of town while they worked. They are a bonded company, whose excellent work carried on even without my presence. They are probably the cleanest workman I have ever seen! I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. They are competent, hard workers who respect the client. I have been totally satisfied with this company.
We were referred to Stan through a tradesperson that had worked with Stan. This fellow couldn't say enough great things about Stan. However, being diligent analyticals meant that we went through our process of interviewing some 'big' players in the Crestwood neighborhood renovation/infill scene. Time and again we were disappointed by enormous cost discrepancies, slick salesman pressure, drawing delays and communication failures. We decided to award our contract to A Cut Above Living and have never regretted our decision. As with any renovation we encountered a few unpleasant discoveries, but issues were handled quickly, expertly and openly in a timely manner. As empty nesters we are thrilled with our forever home but I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again.
After contacting Rona regarding some renovation work, we learned about A Cut Above Living and the installations they do for Rona. We soon made arrangements to do a kitchen makeover with Rona and A Cut Above Living. We were so pleased with the outcome of that project that we decided to go ahead with further renovations, including: two bathrooms, painting throughout the main floor, spraying the ceilings, installing new flooring, and installing interior doors. Almost all of our renovation projects were undertaken by Percy, who is one of the team members from A Cut Above Living; we have come to know him as a reliable and hardworking professional. His fine craftsmanship stands out especially in the beautifully detailed finishing carpentry, the new floors, and ceilings. Percy's excellent skills have given our home a stunning new look! On the basis of these results, we would highly recommend A Cut Above Living to others.
A Cut Above Living worked on numerous jobs in my home. They remodelled our master bedroom and bathroom, a second bathroom and also retiled our kitchen. Stan was extremely open to our concepts and made sure we were happy with the designs before continuing his work. Despite the amount of work we gave him, Stan and his crew were always professional. His employees are excellent. They were always on time, respectful of our home and did their work without hesitation. I will go to them again without thinking twice. I want A Cut Above Living to succeed. I can't recommend them highly enough.
During the planning and material selection phase, both Stan and Flawless Interiors were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. There are a lot of decisions to make and details in the design and development, so it's important to communicate and ask questions. We are so happy with our new living space, which includes an amazing bar area done in a rich dark wood with granite counter tops as well as our stone feature wall with a gas fireplace, TV and dark wood book shelves on each side. We look forward to family time and entertaining guests in our newly developed basement. On the practical side, we have a large closet for out of season clothing and storage room under the stairs in the hallway area. We like the basement just as much as the main floor.
